Partners Profile

Izrin has extensive experience in both public and private sectors. She served the Valuation Department of the City Hall of Kuala Lumpur for three years. She also headed the research section and was a member of the town planning committee for the City Hall of Kuala Lumpur. She then moved on to an International real estate firm and served as a practicing valuer for four years. She is a Registered Valuer and Registered Estate Agent with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia.

Izrin contributes to the following related professional organizations in real estate field :-

• Former Vice-President of the Association of Valuers and Property Consultants in the Private Practice Malaysia (PEPS).
• Fellow of the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (FISM) where she serves on various committees.
• Member for the Property Development Committee of the Malay Chambers of Commerce.
• Board Member of Pakatan International, a well-established firm for quantity surveyors, building costs consultants, building economist and project managers.

Tan Chai Liang, PJK, MISM, is a Partner and Director of Izrin & Tan Properties Sdn Bhd based in Penang. Tan has extensive experience of more than 15 years in both private property consultancy practice and corporate sector. He started his career as a valuer with a leading International Property consultancy firm at Kuala Lumpur and later Penang. In 1995. he ventured into corporate sector and attached to a leading development company, a subsidiary of a main board listed company on Bursa Malaysia. His last posting was Marketing Manager in charge of project sales and marketing for a RM2 Billion township development of 456-acres in Penang. During his 7-year stint, he gained wide exposure and in-depth development experience in project marketing, large scale launchings and have successfully organized numerous housing road shows.

Tan holds a Bachelors in Property Management and Valuation (Honors) from University Technology Malaysia and is a Registered Valuer and Estate Agent with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia since 1994, a Member of the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (MISM) and a licensed auctioneer of Penang State. Tan also serve as Chairman of a residents association in Bukit Mertajam where he plays a lead role in organizing social and community development programmes. He also spearheaded a community web portal www.sungaijuru.com focusing on preserving environmental and river in Penang and is a certified river ranger trainer.

He serves as a committee member for the working group of Local Action 21 MPSP, the local council of the mainland Penang.

He is a recipient of the Penang State Medal “PJK” conferred by the Penang State Governor on the occasion of His Excellency’s 69th Birthday on 14th July 2007.
